I am a Clinical Psychologist and board-certified Therapist. I work in a managerial role in the Psychiatry department of the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) in San Francisco and also have my own practice as a Clinical Therapist and Consultant. I am also an Adjunct Faculty at the Santa Clara University in the behavioral Sciences Program. In the past, I have interned for Dianne Feinstein's senatorial campaign. To quote Robert Frost -" A liberal is an individual too broadminded to take his own side in a debate." I thrive on broader perspectives and have a highly developed sense of empathy that enables me to see a situation in its entirety as much as from someone else's point of view- a quality I need not only for my occupation but also to guide my interpersonal interactions. My loved ones mean the world to me. I invest myself in people and it rewards me in the form of lifelong relationships that bring love, positivity, and strength. The one attribute I pride myself on is my eternal optimism. You'll rarely find me complaining about anything or having a defeatist attitude. I take charge of my life and solve problems with grit and practical wisdom. As you may have surmised, I like to make a positive difference in people's life. I have done ample charity work for children and social and community services. In fact, I have sponsored a girl ever since she was eleven and am proud to say that she (in her early twenties now) has grown up to be a bright girl with a promising future. I have also been part of WorldTeach, a volunteer teaching program. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and a Master's degree in Criminal Justice from the University of California, San Diego. I have also earned a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology. But don't let my credentials deceive you into thinking I'm all work and no play. When it comes to letting my hair down and having fun, I seldom hold myself back. In fact, I'm a livewire at parties and get-togethers and quite a daredevil while having an adventure. I love water sports, hiking, bicycling, skydiving, and play a variety of sports. I love art and have a good sense of aesthetics. My love for performing arts inspired me to learn Bharatanatyam and have made my debut on-stage performance known as Arangetram. Other than that, I have learned Indian classical music and am quite adept at playing the piano. I belong to a well-established and highly educated family. My parents have been living in the USA for the past 50 years. My father has a Ph.D. in Engineering and is currently working as an R&D Director. My mother is an active social worker. My younger brother is a business major from UCLA and is working as a Director of Business Development for Amazon. Earlier, he was working with Facebook, Linkedin and Google.
