I am a traditional Hindu Bengali youth living with my mother. I had married on 29th May, 2019, but destiny played a cruel joke on me as I found out from the night of my marriage that my wife suffers from a mental problem. A neuropsychiatrist found out that my wife was a suicidal mental patient, suffering from cluster B Borderline Personality Disorder. Although I carried on with her treatment, her family intervened and refused to carry on with the treatment. Now both of us are awaiting the annulment of our marriage, which means our marriage never occurred in the first place - as our marriage was conducted by her family under the Special Marriage Act, which clearly states that marriage with a mental patient and impotent person (she was frigid as well) is not valid. The matter is sub judice, and I am awaiting the annulment of our marriage.

She needs to be loving, caring, understanding, compassionate, educated and above all, not a cheater. If she has any issues, she and her family should come clean about the same before the marriage happens. I do not want to suffer again.
