We belong to a middle class family. I am serving as Deputy Manager (Mining) in Northern Coalfields Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India Limited. My wife is a homemaker. Vikram's maternal uncle has served as Inspector General of Police (IPS), New Delhi.

I have two sons and a daughter. My daughter graduated from VIT University and is currently working as Assistant Professor in FIITJEE Limited. My Youngest son has graduated from BITS Pilani and is presently preparing for Civil Services Examination. He has qualified CAPF(AC) 2017 with AIR 97, and has been offered the Post of Assistant Commandant, Central Reserve Police Force.
