We are a family of 5. We are settled in TVPM. My Sister is married to an Engineer and both living in Australia. We are from an aristocratic Nair family, Cheruvalli which was closely linked to the royal administration of Travancore. Both parents are members of the different lines of the same family. The roots of the families extends to different regions of Travancore. His late paternal grandfather was a retired British bureaucrat serving in East Africa and he was the son of the former Adhikari of Ulloor in Trivandrum and Kozhencherry in Pathanamthitta (we have a farm in Konni inherited from him). His paternal great-grandmother was member of Thodupuzha Kizhakethil family and her father was a top official of Forest Dept of Travancore (he was the first cousin of Chattampi Swamikal- Kollur Vadakke Veedu, Trivandrum). His late paternal grandmother was from a respected family in erstwhile capital, Padmanabhapuram and was an early graduate of Travancore University. Her father was a lawyer and mother was the Headmistress of Cotton Hill School in Trivandrum. Her grandfather was a famed Barrister in Nagercoil.
Mahendranath' s mother is from the Kunnumpurath family. His grandfather is retired from Central Government service. His maternal great grandfather was from the Vathalloorparambil House in Kottayam and was in the British Army. His maternal great grandmother was a member of Vittiyampattu family.
